You have two options for checking the status of your AADHAAR card. In addition to checking the AADHAR card update status online, you may also check the AADHAR card status by phone or by sending an SMS.
Methods for checking the status of your AADHAAR card
Both of these methods for checking the status of your AADHAAR card are described in further detail below. Please keep in mind that, according to UIDAI standards, it might take up to three months (90 days) for you to get your AADHAAR card after enrolling at an AADHAAR card facility.
If you applied for an AADHAAR card before April 1, 2012, but have not yet received or obtained your AADHAAR card,
Once your AADHAAR card has been properly processed, you will get an acknowledgment SMS to your registered mobile phone and/or an acknowledgment email to your registered email address.
Following receipt of the acknowledgment, you will be able to monitor your AADHAR card update status online as well as download a duplicate AADHAAR card.
You do not need to wait for the delivery of the original AADHAAR card to your house since the duplicate AADHAAR card has the same validity as the original card.
Please keep in mind that in order to download a duplicate AADHAAR card, you will need the acknowledgment slip that was handed to you when you visited the AADHAAR card facility to register for the card.
If you have not received any news from the UIDAI about the processing of your AADHAAR card application, you may still check the status of your AADHAAR card application online.
You will need the acknowledgment sheet that was provided to you when you visited the AADHAAR card facility for registration in order to check the status of your AADHAAR card online.
Look for the following two things towards the top of the acknowledgment slip:
- The enrolment number is a 14-digit number.
- Enrollment dates and times are represented by 14 digits.
- These 28 numbers serve as your temporary enrolment identification number (EID).
To check the status of your AADHAAR card by phone, send an SMS to 51969 with the text “UID STATUS 14 digit enrollment number>” (for example, UID STATUS 12345678901234).
The AADHAAR card number will be communicated if your AADHAAR card has been generated and the SMS has been sent from the registered mobile phone number.
If your AADHAAR card has not been generated and the SMS has been sent from the registered mobile phone number, you will only receive the current AADHAAR card status.
